Today is a national holiday here in the USA. We set this day aside to give thanks for the benefits we’ve enjoyed in the previous year. Unfortunately, it’s changed from a day of feasting and family to a minor event.
Christmas shopping is the big deal, and we want to forget all about the Pilgrims, Indians, and turkeys. I have to work tomorrow, so my family will have to do their Black Friday shopping without me – darn it.
I’m thankful for the many friends I’ve made through this medium. I’ve met mentors, mentees, fans, friends, and colleagues here. I hope next year brings even more.
I find inspiration in many places, music, people watching, film, and art. Today, I want to talk about art. There is an outstanding artist named, Jaroslav Weiczorkiewicz. He is a photographer with mad Photoshop skills. He is replicating the old-school pinup art, but putting his unique spin on things. He basically throws milk at his models, and takes thousands of photographs of the resulting splash. Then he goes into the studio and uses Photoshop to create one image of the model wearing a milk dress.
These have been around for a few years now, and I was always impressed by them. It takes a unique mind to come up with something like this, and a patient and talented person to pull off the final product.
In the spirit of Thanksgiving, Lisa Burton would like to remind you all to save room for dessert today. Happy Thanksgiving from Entertaining Stories.
Happy Thanksgiving!

I’d say the same, but you’re overseas. Have a great day.

Happy Thanksgiving! At least there’s the big parade, but I’m not sure if that’s just an east coast thing. I’ve avoided the big chain stores all month, so is the Christmas invasion just as bad as last year?
Sorry you have to work tomorrow.

We watch the parade on TV here too. I’m not disappointed to hold down the office tomorrow. Much better than the mall on Black Friday.

We’re going to a morning movie, but it looks like other people had that idea this year. As long as we don’t go into the madness.

I went to bed about 11:30 after baking. I won’t leave this house, and maybe not my easy chair. Except for the after dinner nap, that sounds good too.

Sounds like a plan worthy of the Pilgrims. Do you really have to leave the easy chair for the nap?

I’m trying to do the same with the couch. Not having much luck.

If the movie is a dud, you can sleep in the theater.

We do have those leather recliners in this place. Although I paid enough to make myself stay conscious.

I liked the dessert shoes. I saw those online and knew Lisa needed them. Have a great day, Jan.

Happy Thanksgiving, Craig! I love Lisa’s new picture. I’ve seen some of those photos you described—amazing work. Lisa’s artist did a great job replicating it. We like to keep the old tradition of family getting together and having a nice big Thanksgiving dinner and then just hanging out. I don’t do the ‘Black Friday’ thing. It’s madness over here. People go nuts, it’s not worth it.😬

Ours is the traditional dinner too, but the family isn’t as big as it used to be. We’ll still have nearly a dozen people. Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving. (Don’t tell my wife, but I volunteered to work on Black Friday.)

Hope you’re having a great day. I spotted those shoes first, then had to come up with something to make a poster. This one turned out well.

Hope you had a fabulous Thanksgiving, Craig.I’m actually off today (sitting in a Panera’s cafe with my Mac). Fantastic look for Lisa, but then she can wear anything—even milk.

I’m holding together a skeleton crew at the office, and it’s going to be awesome. This introvert needs to recharge after yesterday. I tested the milk poster as a new phone cover, but the pumpkin pie get’s cut off by the camera opening. Maybe one of the posters for The Hat will work. I am down to some character names before I start writing my next story.

I hear you about recharging. Our Thanksgiving group was smaller this year, just immediate family, so I’m fine. But I know after Christmas I’m going to need an introvert day.
Can’t wait to see the posters for the hat. And wow, are you busy–already moving ahead to the next story. You are a writing machine!

Waiting for art on The Hat. Still don’t know what I’m going to do with Yak Guy. Writing new things is better than hand wringing.

I think when you’re ready some discussion on the Yak Guy might help. I have some ideas.

You are one of the people I’m thankful for this year, Craig. I hope you and yours had a wonderful holiday.
And holy smokes! What a dress! Her artwork is amazing, as always.

Aw, thank you. You mean a lot to me too. We had a great time, and I hope you did too.
I suppose I should have given a nod to the photo models patience too. Standing there in the alltogether while someone throws milk at you for hours probably takes some moxie too. (Hope they warm it up first.)

Can’t really complain when the family is together. It happens so infrequently these days. It was a really nice day.
And, yeah, we should give it up for the model. Pretty sure you couldn’t pay me to do that…

Thanks, again. We got the whole gang together, but peaceful might not be the right descriptor. It was nice getting everyone together.
