It was one of those days today. My wife had a workout class for an hour and a half this morning. I used the time to add five pages to my new story. It isn’t much, but it’s progress. I’ve been tied up for weeks and it felt good to move the story ahead.
We went to a high dollar nursery and bought some potted plants for our porch and back deck. I think I must be in the wrong business. I could shove a bunch of annual flowers in a peat pot, put a basic plastic hanger on it, and sell it for $80.
I’m not above doing it either, but my wife believes the more you pay for something the better it is. We drove down the road to Home Depot and bought many flats of petunias. I had the guy load me up with ten bags of manure too.
This year the manure is for the flower beds. Some years I top dress the lawn, but the beds really needed it this year. After spreading it, I took a long bath. Old What’s Her Face* used her iPad to buy our Avengers tickets.
Our daughter decided to go with us, and she’s 21 now. We bought tickets to the adult section of the theatre. They serve beer and real food up there.
Our daughter took so long to get ready that we completely missed the window to order beer and hot food. The maddening part was that she’d been at work and already looked fine to go out. I will never understand those females that take hours to go anywhere. My wife has always been wash and wear, and that’s something we never had to deal with.
I walked down to the bar during the previews and ordered my own beer anyway. I’m creative like that.
Ultron is an artificial intelligence housed in a robot who wants to destroy the world. It’s a comic book movie, they always want to destroy the world.
In a way, it made me think of Lisa Burton, one of my original characters. She’s a robot too, and she pays the price for all the terminators, HALs, and Ultrons out there. She’s the artificial intelligence who doesn’t want to destroy the world. She just wants to blend into society.
I really enjoyed the movie, but it isn’t as good as the first one. (In my opinion.) There are so many characters that none of them get much screen time. Still, I enjoyed it and that’s what counts.
After that, it was a late dinner and home. We were busy and got a lot accomplished. I even managed a few new words.
* Not the name on my wife’s birth certificate.
Entertaining Stories 
I enjoyed Age of Ultron too, but like you, I thought the first one was better. Plus, Loki was in the first one, and he’s a great antagonist. I missed him in this one.
Beer in a movie theater? I wish we had something like that where I live, but if we do, I haven’t heard of it. I’ll have to look around.

It’s pretty nice, and the seats are better too. It’s nice to get away from the little kids sometimes. We still had people checking their texts during the show. I will never understand that, but beer helps me cope.

I hear you on the texting thing. So irritating. Especially with the announcement after the trailers to turn off phones. Argh.

Agree with you about the movie. It was fun, but I like the first one more. Though I did like the focus on Hawkeye for a bit and I kind of prefer Ultron to Loki. Wish Ultron and the final hero to arrive had more screen time together. I really need to find a place around here that does beer and real food with your movie.

The first one used some pretty cool storytelling techniques. They teased the crap out of Hulk and kept him under wraps for a long time. He’s kind of a one surprise thing where you can’t do that again. The whole Coleson dying thing had the impact we spoke about recently when authors kill the pet. This movie couldn’t do that.

Curse of the sequel? I did like the Vision reveal though, but they needed to use him more. Honestly, I think everything was clogged. Also, I heard that Whedon and the Marvel/Disney execs were fighting over what to do. Somehow this caused most of Thor’s stuff to be cut and some wonky decisions. Makes me scared about Captain America: Civil War. On the plus side, Ant-Man looks entertaining.

I know they can’t all be awesome. I went to Ghost Rider 2 and felt ripped off. Ant Man actually looks pretty good. Captain America’s sequel was better than his first movie. Fighting over the creative process can’t be a good sign.

Never saw Ghost Rider 2. Was going to, but got the flu the morning of. Then my friends said I was the lucky one and I dropped it from my ‘to watch’ list. I agree that Winter Soldier was a better movie than the first. Origin movies do tend to be rough at times. At least they’re not doing that with Spider-Man the third time around.

It’s fun to see what Marvel is accomplishing these days. I’m apprehensive about the new Fantastic Four. They were my favorite as a kid, so I want it to be good. They can’t all be gems, but I’m cheering for them. I really liked Chris Evans as Johnny Storm, but I suppose that ship has sailed.

I’m not looking forward to the new FF. Though that’s FOX and not the Disney/Marvel thing. So it’s under a different banner and direction. Same thing with the X-Men and Wolverine. My main concern with the new Fantastic Four is that the trailers haven’t really wowed me. Something seems off and I can’t put my finger on it. One concern might be that Thing looks like the rock creature that Thor one shot killed in his second movie.

I thought Ben Grim and Hulk were the only characters to lift Thor’s hammer. I suppose the Ben Grim bit can never happen with the rights scattered from company to company.

Don’t remember Grim lifting it, but I think most heroes have gotten it at least once. I read that even Conan wielded it in a ‘What If’ story.

I have a few odd ones. The two I definitely remember is ‘What If Flash Thompson became Spider-Man’ and ‘Who watches the Watcher’. The latter was the April Fools edition, which had the Watcher doing a Marilyn Monroe impression.

I used to be a two hour preparer. Now I’m a ten minute one. Having really short hair makes a huge difference.

That makes sense, except my daughter walked in from work looking perfectly presentable. More so considering it’s a dark movie theatre.

When I was your daughter’s age I spent a lot of time getting ready to go out, too. I even remember washing my hair to go to the beach….only to get in the water a half hour later and get it wet. Don’t know what I was thinking, LOL.
I want to see Ultron, unfortunately no cool theaters with beer and hot food around here. We do have a Home Depot though, and hubby and I were there yesterday…buying plants 🙂

I’m not an action movie person, so I can’t comment on that, but I don’t think any movie theaters around here serve beer. My husband and I usually go in the afternoon and sometimes we get coffee. 🙂
