I’m a fairly regular blogger. People come here to learn something interesting, have a laugh, and hang out. There are times when there just isn’t anything all that fun to post about.
Part of being a writer involves a lot of things that aren’t research, or drafting new material. It still has to get done, and that’s what this weekend was all about for me. It isn’t all robot girls and talking yaks around here.
I wrote one more micro-fiction for my Macabre Macaroni event, then assembled and scheduled all five of them. To top it all off, I did an intro post for these stories and scheduled it too. (Six posts.)
I updated this site Friday night, and then there is this post. (Seven posts.)
I also wrote, assembled, and scheduled something for Story Empire on October 1st. (Eight posts.)
I already mentioned scheduling the interview for Thursday, and the idea that Lisa needs guests once more.
On top of that, I managed to write 5000 words of new fiction. I’m a little dubious about this one, because it’s something I’ve never tried before.
It was all work. It wasn’t sexy, but it needed to get done. I’ll probably spend a bit of time looking for some good wallpaper to lead into the next month.
I hope all of you were either productive or had a good time somewhere.
You sound very productive. Just edits on the WIP. Oh, and a post for tomorrow.

I don’t think I could come up with enough material for seven days per week. Much respect that you can.

Too bad they can’t all be robot girls, talking yaks, and magical hats.

The other part of writing: research. Sometimes fun, sometimes not.

Productive, yes. Had a good time, no. But I’ll take it.
Glad you had a productive weekend! Looking forward to seeing the fruits of your labor.

This one might take some time. My next chapter will be a stage setting one, and then I need to think some things through.

I’d suggest outlining, but you have to work the way it works best for you. Always happy to lend an ear if you need one. You know where I am.

You know I’m a descipal of the outlining school. I wanted to write the setup chapters and see if they resonate with me. The big problem will show up in the next chapter along with some additional characters. Then, it may be time to start the outline.

Glad you had such a productive weekend.
My weekend sucked. There was the gas issue I know you saw mentioned on Facebook Friday night, and then threats from nasty neighbour and her boyfriend Saturday night that were bad enough we had the police out.

Yuck! Hope things settle down soon.

Thanks, I hope these are up to snuff. I honestly feel that way every year about them.

You got a lot accomplished. I’m still struggling with the opening of my WIP. Sigh.

Aww, thanks. So nice of you, but it isn’t even at the sharing stage yet because the outline I wrote isn’t working. I’ve got to replot (is that a word?) 😦

Fantastic, Craig. You made a lot of progress! You are right. A writer’s work isn’t always glamorous or fun, but necessary. I’m enjoying beautiful Sedona Arizona for a week.

I always applaud progress Craig, especially when that progress results in more fun stories to read – cuz I’m an addict who, for lack of something worth reading, like someone deprived of air, instinctively would otherwise reach out for the back of a cereal box or junk mail. . . Sad, I know.

I’ll try to crank out something soon. That junk mail is a killer.

Hi Craig! That’s right. Writing isn’t all glamorous. 😉 I like to read about what goes on behind the scenes though. I’m working on a synopsis, blurb and back cover copy for my new book, Son of the Serpent. I’m also working on the formatting for the book. Two of the hardest things ever! It’s time like these I wish I had a publisher. Oh well.
I’m almost ready for an interview with Lisa. I would like to get the synopsis ready first because I think it would help to get things set up. All the best!
😀 xx

I’m ready whenever you are. Sometimes the dirty work has to get done. It isn’t all fun and doesn’t make great blog fodder, but it still needs doing.

I agree. I’m almost finished with the synopsis, so I’ll send it to you as soon as it’s done – to start the ball rolling.

Wow! When do you ever sleep? I’m so jealous (in a good way, of course) of the way you manage to get so much done. Very impressive! ❤
