I'm having some connectivity issues here today. Everything else seems to be hunky-dory, but my iPad is acting up. I hope this doesn't mean bad things for my precious baby.
I have a post scheduled every day through friday now, with the exception of wednesday. If nothing else, this will give me one day to make some kind of adjustment. I might have an announcement to make, but that involves a team effort, and I need to hang tight. I can always post a picture or two from my field trip for work.
My friends and I, over at Story Empire, have a month long scavenger hunt going on. There are five separate scavenger hunts to check out at our Paranormal Bar & Grille page. We're taking our books on a huge tour, and there is a grand prize to be found there too. You have to play to win, and you could win as many as five of the regular prizes. We weren't exactly ready to pull back the veil, but I already have one entrant so the time is now. Go down to the bottom, and the highlighted names will take you right to the scavenger hunts.
Story Empire is growing, but we can always use more followers. You might want to check out the blog page while you're there and see if it might be for you. Right now, the content is directed more toward authors and contains tips and advice that's pretty helpful. It may evolve over time, most blogs do.
In other news, I bought the new iPhone. My old one was one of the 16GB models and it was full. No more music, inability to get my documents off the cloud, etc. Other than that, it was wonderful. I would have kept it, but I just needed more room.
Well, a new phone needs a new cover. This model is so new, there aren't many to choose from. I usually choose something macabre and creepy. My old phone had a full moon with bats flying across it. This time, I decided to have Zazzle make me a custom one. What do you think?
I really want to get a box of coffee mugs with something similar. They aren't cheap though. That way, I can include a mug when I have another scavenger hunt, or get involved in something with prizes. Would that kind of prize interest any of you? I would include some kind of promotional link on it too.
One of the other things I'd like to do is get some stickers made. I have a lot of Lisa Burton art right now, and could hand out stickers to various people. This wouldn't be guerrilla sticking, but to those who want something like that. Even sticking one on the back of my iPad could get someone to ask a question.
Back to the grind tomorrow, and on the airplane Tuesday well before sunrise.
Sorry about the connectivity issues you’re having but I just wanted to say I LOVE the new iPhone cover. Very hip and I think the artwork would work great on a t-shirt. Easy to ship, too. Vistaprint has cheap prices on t-shirts.

That’s a thought too. I like this image, because I’m included too…kind of. It’s just a matter of actually doing it.

I love the phone cover! How cool that you have this branding thing going on. Makes me a weeeee bit jealous. 🙂

I might be willing to trade branding for the way you write emotions. I am glad you like it though.

Thank you for the compliment! Two things. First, you do a fantastic job doing emotions the right way. It isn’t sappy or over done. Can you imagine reading an entire book of the stuff I write? It would wear everyone out. In small doses it is fine. Look at James Rollins. He writes the most gawdawful love scenes I have ever read and yet still is a New York Times best seller. You write better than he does. 😉

That’s a wonderful compliment, but I can actually imagine a whole book of your writing. Mine would have more black humor, but you are very good.

I’m more the type who would like Will O’ The Wisp cover art, but I think Lisa has QUITE the following 🙂
I hope your iPad comes around. I liked my old phone just fine, but I needed more room, too.

I never even came close to filling an iPhone. Then “poof” it was full. It must have been the music files. Otherwise I would have kept the old one.

I think pictures did it for me.

I love this Craig. I have the Blake word cloud on my phone cover and that defintiely gets me questions. For the crowdfunder I’ve offered a window sticker in the packages which includes a quote from Blake, that seems to work well too.I too have thought of other merchandise but have come across the same issue. It’s expensive! I’ll look forward to hearing what you decide to do 🙂

I’m a million miles from everyone, but I can mail the occasional piece out. Needs some thought.

Just had an idea. What about pin badges? They are in at the moment, small and easily postable and Lisa would look great as an enamel pin badge!

That could work too. I’m storing all this away for my 2017 business plan.

Love the new iPhone cover! We created a store for Partners In Crime, and people love it. The scavenger hunt sounds so fun.

How do you think the store is working out? Does it break even?

One of our close friends created it as a way to support the show. I was joking and mentioned having bumper stickers made up, and the next we know, he created all these products. He’s an extremely generous person who wants to send us the profits. So honestly, I have no idea how many products he’s sold, but we’ve heard from many people who love the stuff. He’s such a close friend, we couldn’t possibly take the profits; we’re just thankful that they’re available.

That’s an awesome phone cover. I like the idea of mugs and stickers too. A few years back, pins were rather popular as swag. Might still hold true now, but those are hard to do. Going to check out the scavenger hunt and see what I can do.

Zazzle keeps sending me coupons now. Maybe I’ll take advantage of them. Check out all the scavenger hunts, there are some good prizes.

Do all the hunts require reading through the books or going through the connected blogs? (Have the kid home for 2 days, so my Internet wandering time is about to end.)

Actually, all the answers are on the Story Empire pages. Look under the books by author. And good luck with your creative poetry.

Doing them now since my son has decided to reenact ‘Angry Birds the Movie’ and entertain himself.

Haven’t actually seen that one. Minions might require a padded room though.

I think we’re going to have our 17th viewing today. He switches between that and The Lego Movie. Angry Birds is fun and he isn’t as destructive as one would think when he’s pretending to be one. Mostly he pretends to run really fast like one of the birds.

I remember those days. My younger son love to watch the Penguin, over, and over. It wasn’t so bad though, Michelle Pfieffer made it bearable.

Batman Returns was definitely a fun movie. Though, The Penguin freaked me out as a kid. At least that version since I was used to the old Batman TV show prior to that. Hard to go from Burgess Meredith to Danny Devito.

Burgess will always be the Penguin to me too.

For me, it’s the one from Batman: The Animated Series. That’s who I hear in my head. Same with Joker always sounding like Mark Hamill.

Oh, I LOVE the new phone cover! The scavenger hunt sounds like loads of fun, and the stickers, mugs, etc., sound like a great idea, too. Have the cards you had made gotten you any interest?

The cards didn’t do as much as I hoped, but niether has anything else I’ve tried. I’m finding that a volume of small things seems to work better than one bigger thing.
