It’s been hard to come up with blog fodder lately. There isn’t that much interesting stuff happening. I’m still trying to figure out some October promo. I’d better get it together, because it will be here before I know what’s happening.
I came up with a series for Three Act Structure I want to post on Story Empire. One of them is hacked out, but I want to let it ferment for a day or two before I schedule it. The others should be easy enough to create when I need my next post.
A friend is going on a release tour. I assembled all her materials and scheduled her stop ahead of time. I always give priority to others, and try to make sure they’re taken care of.
I’m still swimming in Asian pears. I tried baking one the other day, but didn’t give it enough time in the oven. I also needed better things to stuff it with. Might try it again. I ate a couple fresh from the tree today, so I should be good on the fiber meter.
This afternoon, I sent another chapter to my Critique group. Sometime in the next week I should have them all back. My next amazing stunt has to be sending Lanternfish to the formatter. I want it to come out sometime in November.
Other than that, I dabbled on my side project for a while. Came to 1300 words, so nothing all that special.
Oh, and I spent an hour on the phone with my daughter. She has raccoons in her yard and sent some pictures. They look like this year’s babies and are probably looking for something to eat. Cute, but best to stay away from them.
Doesn’t seem like a lot for a week. I used to blog three times per week, plus host Lisa Burton Radio. This year has really gotten to me and I don’t seem to have some of the same mojo.
Hope all of you had good weeks and have better weekends.
I think a lot of folks have lost the blogging mojo. More and more are missing. Hope next week is great.

I noticed that, too.

This year seems rather tame compared to previous years. Hard to find blog topics. Not sure if I should hope your get some excitement.

Even just something nice would be appreciated.

November? I’ll look for it. I love Lanternfish. You must have one heck of a lot of pears! I used to can fruit. Not anymore. Enjoy them.

So many pears this year. I’m eating them as fast as I can. These are more like apples. Different than European pears. November seems like a decent time to release a book. Maybe?

Feels to me like everything from last year is hitting people this year, because lack of motivation, mojo, or whatever you want to call it, seems to be a common thing this year.

It’s just been so strange.

I think many of us have lost that lovin’ feeling this year (and 2020). Baby raccoons are adorable! Take lots of pics. 🙂

She snapped a couple, then left them alone. I’m just in a weird mindset right now. Trying to spend my hours working on alternative things is a way of not wasting them.

Your pears sound like me with cherries. I’m always super excited for the first bowl, but by the end I can’t get rid of them.
You’re welcome to tour on Wyrmflight any time.

So true. I’ve tried giving them away with no luck.

It is hard to find that enthusiasm lately for everyone, I think. I finally had to go out and buy some pears 🙂

Shame you don’t live closer. I think those I’ve offered mine to are suspicious. These are crunchy Asian pears, and not the European versions they might be used to.

I love the asian pears. We usually don’t see them for a few more weeks..

I’m going to eat the last cold one in a minute, then fill the refrigerator again this afternoon.

My blogging energy is suffering too, Craig. Maybe it’s the change or seasons and a yearning to hibernate, or maybe it’s another wave of endless covid-19 taking its toll. It sounds like you got a lot accomplished regardless. Enjoy the pears!

Baby steps are still steps. If I can’t be creative I can still put in the laborious parts.

Last year and this year combined has been tough on everyone, Craig. It’s hard to be creative when doom and gloom dominate our worlds. All we can do is try to reach for any small positive. 1300 words is great! It’s progress! Sounds like you could do with a few raccoons to help out with your abundance of pears. I’m sure they could get rid of a few. 🙂

I’m sure they could take out the whole tree. It isn’t very big. I’m at the point of hiding from the news and plugging away at projects. If it has to go slower, then I guess that’s how it works.

We have a racoon mum who shows up with three babies in tow each year. They’re such fun to watch. 🙂

I used to get badger kits when living in Nevada. They were so cute. I think my daughter is having a good time watching her wildlife.

I think the blogging blues are contagious. Lots of us feel the same way, Craig. Maybe take a break, work on your projects, then come back refreshed. Oh, and eat more Asian pears.

No lack of pears around here. Thanks.

These days, I think most folks are just doing the best they can — forging a path through a world that they don’t understand. I’m impressed by what you’ve accomplished, Craig. I wish I could claim the same. All the best.
