What can I say? I finished Lanternfish and took a break that lasted almost 24 hours. I started a new project on Sunday, and since today is my flex day I added to that.
I’m already 10,500 words into my next story. This might give you some hints as to what I’m up to. Oh, and turn the speakers up. This woman has some chops.
You are indeed.

Beginnings are usually easy with a decent storyboard. I’m sure the middle slog is coming.

What. Started on Sunday and already at 10,000 words? Inspiring. I too should increase my output. Anyway, thanks for this post!

I had this story boarded for years. Makes it easy until I hit that middle slog. It’s a normal process for me. I’m enjoying the word count while it lasts.

Congratulations on finishing Lanternfish and starting your next project. I know exactly what it is. (I know I have some insight others don’t, but I’d have known based on the song, anyway.)

It’s such a great theme for where Lizzie is mentally.

I should be punished. I’m not going out in this heatwave, so here we are.

Don’t blame you there. What you guys are having reminds me of Texas ten years ago.

Thanks, Vashti. It will come to a screeching halt once I hit the middle slog, so I’m enjoying it for now.

I don’t know how you do it, Craig. I always need a good break between finishing a book and starting another. And 10K words already!

Wow, Craig! When you hit go, you hit it hard! I’d guess from the tune that you are back with Lizzie and The Hat. 🙂

I am, and that song could almost be a theme for her in this story.

Thank you. My wife is off this weekend, so I might get a 0 for a couple of weeks.

LOL. I always say I’m going to take a break, too, but then I miss writing too much:) I’ve NEVER written 10,000 words in two days, even when I know every single part of a story. My brain doesn’t work that fast. Congrats! And I thought it had to be Lizzie.

Years ago, with a good outline, I did that in one day. Never done it since. People need to remember that my writing days are sporadic. I might not get another day for weeks in some cases.

Huh, the term ‘keyboard slut’ is definitely an unusual addition to my vocabulary.
Also, great work with the word count!
