I woke up to about eight inches of snow today. Nothing I haven’t seen before, but there were sidewalks and the driveway to deal with.
Old What’s Her Face has permanent dibs on the good snow shovel. It’s one of those push shovels that works like a snowplow. That leaves me with an old square concrete shovel that won’t empty because the snow sticks in it.
I did the sidewalks while she worked over the driveway. At the end, everything got finished, but my shoulder hurts for some reason.
On the bright side, Frankie loves the snow. She likes to stick her head under it, then wander around bind until she runs into a tree or something. Then she rolls over and wriggles her way for a yard or two. This is the same dog that hates the rain, but she seems to love this.
I laughed so much that I forgot to take a picture. Some blogger I am.
I intended to write, and did to a small degree. Mostly, I worked up a chapter for my critique group and sent it off. I also worked over a section for one of the other group members.
My writing involved more of a slice of life for Lizzie, but it seems to work. I’m right down to the end, so I need the next section to be creepy and scary. That’s one of the tricks to The Hat series. I need some humor, some slice of life, plus a bit of horror and intensity. Shifting back and forth has to feel right, but as the author, I need to get in the right frame of mind, too.
Eventually, I broke down and listened to some music. Maybe that will help. This kind of music:
The description of Frankie running around in the snow had me laughing. Had to have been worth seeing. Thanks for sharing, Craig.

It’s happened to me before. I get caught up in the moment, but forget to take a picture for you guys. Maybe I’m supposed to live in the moment instead.

Yeah just do that. The description was enough and more animated.

I hate stealth snow. Just wake up and it’s there without any warning. That caught me one morning, so I had to scramble to clean my car off and get to work on time. At least you had Frankie to entertain you. Great music choice too.

I never had a garage until we moved to Idaho. On days like this, I really appreciate it. Still, we had to clean the walks and driveway. Glad you like the music. Maybe I can wrap this story up over the holiday.

Garages are a blessing during this time of year. Snow blowers too. 😀 Good luck finishing your story. I’m aiming to do the same here with the fantasy tip book. Though, I think I’m about to be laid out by the second Covid shot I got today.

Cool that you can get one. Might be months for me.

Wow! You’re that close to the end of The Hat story. Awesome! Loved the description of Frankie and the snow. We used to have a “snowplow” type shovel, but it died on us. Now, we’re lucky because the neighbor across the street has a big pickup with a blade, and he does our driveway for us every time it snows. I love our neighbors:)

Snow shoveled, Frankie exercised, pages written, and everyone’s happy. That sounds like an almost perfect day. I hope you’ve had a beer or glass of wine…and a good massage on that shoulder. 🙂

Shoulder feels better, but bedtime will tell for sure. Just finished supper, so it’s time for that toddy.

Love the fact that a girl’s playing the double bass. Awesome. I hope it got you in the right mood. 🙂

My characters in The Hat series play that instrument in their band.

Oh! I haven’t tried that series. Thanks for the headsup. 🙂

Start with The Hat. It will explain how the setup works, but you can read them out of order and get most of it. Hope you enjoy it.

I would have loved to see Frankie! Stay safe and warm and take care of that shoulder.

I blew it, but there is something to say about living in the moment, too. It’s all frozen and crusty today so she isn’t interested at all.

Can’t say that I blame her!

Until they figure out a way to project our memories onto viewing screens, we’ll all be too busy enjoying moments too quickly to get photo or video. just imagining Frankie playing in the snow made me smile 🙂
I injured my shoulder when shoveling in 2014. I may well carry the injury as a reminder for the rest of my life. Baby it much as you can.
We’re supposed to get 4-7 inches here. I am so delighted our office is open tomorrow. Driving in the snow will bring me such peace *rolls eyes*

Government workers get tomorrow off. I have that working in my favor.

Snow is very distracting. I have to get one of those shovels. Great song to get you back into the story.

Thank you. I think I’ll work on it again tomorrow.

Your descriptions of Frankie enjoying the snow have me smiling. Even if winter is a pain in the butt for us, pets love it.
Stay warm and happy writing!

Thanks, Mae. She’s a pretty happy girl all the time, but snow was a real treat.

Sounds like it was a reasonably good day, even if it wasn’t the day you planned.
Frankie is funny… I loved your description of her in the snow. My dogs love snow too, and will roll in and eat it, which is amusing, but not as funny as what Frankie does.

Thanks. It’s not fun snow anymore. Once it froze and got crusty she was done with it.
