Old What’s Her Face went to visit her brother for a few days. I’ll be keeping the dogs company during the neighborhood fireworks, and probably downing a beer or two.

Hope the fireworks don’t agitate the dogs too much, and you don’t have too much heat for them to deal with today on top of the fireworks.

Heat hasn’t been bad yet. It’s about 15 degrees lower than normal this year. It’s enough to run the AC in the afternoons though. They don’t seem panicked by the fireworks like some. Otto just likes to bark at them and act protective.

Happy 4th to you too! We are just staying home, Owen will come up and eat a late lunch with us and that is about all we will do. When Grandma was around we always had a picnic. Things do change. Keep the doggies happy and I did order that book you recommended . See you on the 19th. Love, Mom

Have a great 4th and enjoy your time with the dogs. Even knowing the fireworks go on, every bang still startles me. I can hardly wait for the day is over.

It usually gets pretty crazy here. There are fireworks stands everywhere. I hope we can avoid the brush fires of previous years. I would stay up and at least watch, but I have to work tomorrow.

Oh, no, I don’t like having holidays in the middle of the week and go back to work for one day before weekend. Some people just take Friday off.

I know Craig. I worked in a department of 8 people within the school district. We had to have someone answer the phone in case the superintendent or a parent called.

We’re required by law to be open from eight to five, so we have a skeleton crew here today.
