Today was a day of errands and correspondence. We watched the Kentucky Derby, and will head for the movie theater in an hour or so. Is it ever not muddy at the Kentucky Derby?
I usually watch the pregame show for the Derby too, but errands got in the way. Since I'm going to write a story called The Hat, I kind of wanted to see all the girls in big hats for research purposes.
The errands were important though. We bought a bag of puppy chow, a new doggie bed, a tiny little harness and leash, a new bowl, and some new baby toys. While we were out, the breeder sent us a few pictures.
This is the sweet part of my post.
Just look at that face.
A very patient cat helped lend a bit of size perspective here.
Next Saturday, we'll drive back to Burley and pick her up. Otto loved the puppies when we visited, but I hope he isn't a toy hog. He's going to have to share with Frankie from next week on.
That’s simply adorable. Hopefully her and Otto each claim their own favorites.

They’ll find an equilibrium eventually.

Hope they let you sleep too. I’ve heard that puppies can be as difficult as babies.

She won’t, and they’re a lot like babies.

Only more kibble and less mashed peas. I still remember the smell of those mashed peas. Yuck.

I think she’s claiming ownership of the cat with her paw.

Well, it DID just rain for 8 days. But also, no, it is never not muddy. lol
You can go on Pinterest for Derby hats 🙂

I’ve done that. Maybe it’s the pig in me, but the girls in hats thing is kind of a package deal.

Completely adorable! Looking forward to more Frankie photos, hope Otto’s nose isn’t too out of joint 😀

We hope that too. There will be an adjustment period for all of us.

Frankie has such a lovely face, and I just know your output will suffer for quite a while! I know mine would…

I hope not too bad though. Maybe they can bug each other for an hour each day.

I’m sure they will, but I know who will be there too…

Thanks. We may need your best wishes. Otto kept us from sound sleep for months last spring. Why not do it again???

Hope Otto isn’t too rambunctious with her. She’s just a baby right now. Doesn’t it look like she’s claimed that cat as personal property?

From ône writer of hat stories to another, that sounds like an interesting project Craig! I’m looking forward to seeing how that one turns out 🙂

I’m kind of excited about it. I have to delay it until I get the other books out, but I think it will write fast.

Frankie’s AWWW! factor is off the charts. And that photo of her with the cat is soooo cute. I love cats, love puppies, but the two of them together score top points. I can’t wait to see photos of Frankie and Otto together.

I hope he isn’t too bossy. He’s been only puppy for a whole year.

That is one adorable puppy! We have a gray cat and a noisy chihuahua, and they love to annoy each other.

The author in me hopes they will annoy each other and leave me an hour each weekend.
