Squeezing a post in

It's Sunday, it started like every Sunday, with a call to my parents. We talked about family triumphs and struggles, the opening day of Major League Baseball, and other things.

My son and I went to see Ghost in the Shell today. Everyone seemed to be wondering what I thought, because the reviews weren't that good. I thought it was awesome to be honest. One of the things I wanted from it was visuals of the futuristic environment.

My next novel (possibly 2018) is going to be called Grinders. It's about bio-hackers, and I want to use setting similar to what I saw in the film previews. (Okay, I'm old enough that I was thinking Blade Runner, but you get the gist.) Ghost in the Shell delivered big time, in fact, I may have to step up my setting beyond the ideas I already have.

I thought the story was good too. It wasn't overly complicated, and it suited the genre well. I would have liked to see more familiar faces, but it could be that I wasn't looking at the faces. Scarlet Johansen tends to make me look many places at once.

Tomorrow kicks off the Story Empire Blog tour I already shared with you. This is going to keep me busy. I will have a guest here tomorrow, and at the same time, I will be a guest somewhere else. Never one to slack-off, I also have the regular post in the rotation at Story Empire. This means I have some serious comments to follow across the internet.

I will not be reblogging my own tour posts, because I won't step on my guest's toes during this event. If you want to win one of my prizes, you'll have to visit my host's sites. This is the tour schedule, and there are some fun prizes up for grabs, and some great deals on good books.

Then there is the social media support to go along with it all. There are occasionally comments there that I need to respond to, on top of the WordPress comments.

During all that, I want to move ahead with my reading responsibilities. I may try reading a few chapters, surfing all the sites and media, then reading a few more chapters.

Lisa Burton, my personal assistant thinks she can explain it better than I can.

Wish me luck. Have you seen Ghost in the Shell? What did you think? Do you have any tips for keeping up with all of my blogging responsibilities?

  1. I haven’t seen Ghost in the Shell, but I can relate to the blogging responsibilities, juggled with reading and writing. Love the new Lisa artwork. She’s got the sequence down pat, LOL!

  3. I’ve had a virus for two weeks now and the wee one has been ill at the same time. I too feel like my head is about to explode. I don’t know how you keep up with it all Craig. This last few weeks has shown me that I just can’t keep going at the pace I am. I’ve talked before about streamlining but I think I may need to do something even more drastic than that. I don’t want to give up th blogging but I may need to drop it for a while. I have writing, videos, social media, reading, rehearsing, two blogs and a two year old. Exploding heads Batman. Good luck with it all and yes, Blade Runner is very cool 😎

  4. My hubby went to see Ghost In The Shell and loved it. I was going to go too, but we’re in the middle of having work done in our place so someone had to stay home, and he bribed me with DVDs and chocolate to be the one to stay home. Since I not only got the DVDs and chocolate, but also got some piece to attempt to catch up on a few things while waiting for the workmen, I agreed. I have to say “attempt” though, because I swear as fast as I deal with one eMail or blog post, I discover two or three new ones that will also need my attention. If I figure out the secret to keeping up with it all, I’ll let you know, but right now it’s such a good secret nobody actually seems to know it.

  5. I haven’t seen Ghost yet, but your post made me want to speed it up before it leaves the theater. I too struggle with keeping my blog consistent. One thing I find is that in the circle of bloggers, lots of re-blogging happens which gets something on your site that you didn’t have to write. There is no easy answer as to how to juggle it all and still find time to have a life and write our stories!

  6. It’s funny that my new job depends on the Hollywood film industry, but keeps me too busy to ever go to the movies.

  7. Hahahaha. Love the new graphic! I haven’t seen the movie. Bob and I have been too busy catching up with movies we’ve missed but wanted to watch. Vudu is great for that. Every night we find another fantastic flick. Last night we rented Contraband. Have you seen it?

  8. I can’t even say I’ve seen a trailer, although after I leave this comment, I shall go hunt one.
I blog. Reading is secondary to blogging. Comments are third. Sometimes people complain or go away. Everyone has choices to make. Time is finite.
