Otto’s half siblings were born. The ultrasound predicted six puppies, but eight showed up. That is a C-Section scar, because those big heads are hard to pass.
We wanted two originally, but Otto’s litter was all spoken for. This time we’re first in line. We’d like to get a female to stack the deck that they’ll get along better when we aren’t home. The litter is four boys and four girls. We haven’t been told which are which yet, but they’re still fun to look at. I tend to go for the ones with the most white, because I like the contrast. It doesn’t appear any brindle showed up in this litter.
The breeder also sent us a short video that’s almost annoyingly cute with it’s nursing sounds and little whimpers. It’s hard to imagine Otto ever being able to fit in one hand like these guys can – for now.
We’re talking about a visit in about four or five weeks. It’s only a few hours from home, and I know the lady would love to see Otto again.
So it’s looking like another summer of sleepless nights and potty training for old Craig.
What the heck, here’s a shot of Otto for all the new followers. He’s a lunker, and his first birthday isn’t until the first of April.
So cute. No wonder people like puppies. Otto is precious.

Adorable.
We said our dogs looked like sausage puppies when they were first born. But all babies are so sweet! Best wishes with the new one.
I see more pumpkin balls in your future.

If that’s Otto’s face after you told him about the new sibling, you’re in big trouble! đŸ˜€

Ha ha. He was mad at me for tossing his rubber carrot on top of the couch.

It could be. Give them a couple of weeks and I’ll bet they are cute and lively.

That sounds smart. Don’t want to separate babies from their mother.

No idea. He’s kind of a momma’s boy anyway.

It makes perfect sense to have two, as long as they get on! You must be a glutton for punishment, is all I can say…

I think so too. Puppies are a certain amount of work.

You’re going to have your hands full with a new puppy to train on top of a dog who’s only now around a year old. Still, I expect you’re going to love it… Well, you may be a bit uncertain when you wake up in the middle of the night and stumble to the bathroom, only to find the puppy left you a gift on the carpet. But it’ll be worth it in the long run…
I miss having a dog…

We did it all last summer, so we’re veterans.

I once wrote an essay titled, “One Minute in the Life of a Puppy” but had to shorten the time-span to 5 seconds to keep it under my 2,000 word goal.

They can be pretty busy in an entire minute.

It isn’t a good enough video to share. Pretty grainy. We wanted two all along, but it looks like they have to be a year apart.

That’s a good thing. They’ll grow up together. We had two from the same litter among our 8 rotties, a boy and girl affectionately called A & B for short. They did everything together. Inseparable their whole lives. They even died together. Heart-wrenching for us, but nice for them. Anyway, we would never have wanted it any other way. I doubt one of them would’ve wanted to live without the other. That’s how close they were. Maybe Otto and the new puppy will share that bond, too.

I saw the photo and went “What?!?” like Otto had puppies. I’m tired, I can laugh at myself!
Well that’s certainly something to look forward to! đŸ™‚

Nope, and we don’t intend for him to father any either. This would be his half-sister if it all comes together.

Us too, but once we find out which ones the girls are we can narrow it down.

Puppies are so adorable. ^_^ And it’s a good thing too, because when they are still small enough to fit into your hand, they really are a handful! As for choosing, I can’t imagine how you’d decide. Sumo picked us–he padded over and promptly chomped my big toe. Love at first bite. XD
