Book Review: Author C.S Boyack.

My curiosity was raised when reading author C.S.Boyack’s blog. Entertaining Stories I found that to be highly entertaining, and wanted to explore his fictional works as a result.

I’m so pleased that I did, this book is an enjoyable exploration into the many faces of man. The author deals with death, afterlife, loyalty, survival and loneliness and weaves those emotions into cleverly constructed fast-paced short stories. The pulp feel is done deliberately in a few of the collection and the humor is apparent in many of the stories, usually contained within dialogue shared by characters that are crafted well.

It is hard to choose favorites for I enjoyed each story for a different reason. The following are just a few that lingered in memory after reading, although each story was well done.

  6. Magpies is my favorite so far. Amusing and kinda frightening. I’ve seen myself in that place before and know my daughter has also. Not talking to birds, but just about there. Remember the old cartoons where the character would get bomped on the head and see stars and birds. That was the first thing that came to mind…lol
