I, Hero: The Beginning” falls in the realm of your standard fantasy / mythology / superhero story. It’s an “origins” story, and like any origin tale, it seems slow to tell, at least from the start. In order to have a good base to work future adventures from, you have to know how the hero got their start. That was the premise for “I, Hero: The Beginning”.

The book has been set up as a part of a planned series of stories. I have four more “planned”, with book two titled “I Hero: Nathan Returns” which is already in the works and expected ready for delivery for the Kindle for the middle of September. After that, I have tentatively planned three more books in the series as follows:

I Hero: Untitled Book 3 (Expected first half 2016)
I Hero: Untitled Book 4 (Expected second half 2016)
I Hero: Untitled Book 5 (Expected first half 2017)

Truthfully, those will go if time permits and depending on how successful the series of books is. If they are only so successful, I may stop the series wherever I am and leave it open ended. I do have a number of stories to write, so I am hoping on a good following and the ability to tell Nathan’s story. On the off chance the characters and the series is wildly successful, I have the ability to branch more of the storylines and do far more than the tentatively planned five books.

In the specific case of the “I, Hero: The Beginningpart of the full series of stories, we start off with Nathan, who is a typical “nobody special at least on the surface. He seems like an everyday person, going about their work and personal life like anyone else.

He doesn’t have very many friends and even the three closest people in his life don’t know him as well as the kindly old woman he helps out. She sees much more potential in him than any of the others do and even more than Nathan does in himself.

With the unfolding story, Nathan begins to address all of the extraordinary changes that occur to him. While it is touched upon in the first book of the series, there is more beneath the surface that he must deal with. Those surmounting issues continue in the second book of the series, “I Hero: Nathan Returns”.

It is with that mindset that Nathan’s story begins in “I, Hero: The Beginning”.

About I, Hero: The Beginning

An everyday man, living less than ordinary life in New York City, simply makes his way about his work life and one at home. A kind heart and an empathetic soul, who tended to think of others before he thought of himself.

With his childhood totally left behind and gone with the final resting of his father, Nathan has come to terms with his past as he forges his life in the present, unaware of what lies ahead.

An unlikely friendship, a random act of violence, a budding romance, all part of a life changed.

“When it’s your time, there’s nothing you can do to change that outcome. The only thing you can do is meet it head on. You have to hope that the life you had with others, while you were here, has made a positive impact.” – Brian Devron

“Where there is darkness, you are light. Where others know fear, you will be brave. When there are setbacks, you will persevere. Where others find weakness, you bring strength. Where there is despair, you are hope. Where cowardice falls, you rise courageously. Where others do not have the ability to believe, you have faith. You will suffer, so that others will endure. You will triumph where others would fall.” – CiciJohnson

“This is it; it all changes tonight. Anything I do tonight, at a minimum, is going to at least expose all of this to the world.” – Nathan Devron.

  5. Hi, Jason. Nice to “meet” you. I’m super impressed by your busy schedule. Planning ahead really makes a difference. I’ve just started a series myself and am a little freaked by the idea of meeting deadlines. Wishing you the very best with yours. Hero looks like an intriguing series!
