Tomorrow, definitely tomorrow

I didn't get any new words down today. I did work on a couple of promotional projects for my existing books. The whole world seems to have slowed down in the last few weeks, and I need to jar the mechanism somewhere.

Psst, hey buddy, want to buy a book?”

I have something else in mind too, but I want to spend some quality time writing it out before approaching The Storyreading Ape. It's an open invitation I've been meaning to get to.

I don't know whether it's graduation plans, wedding, or vacation plans, but the world seems to have slowed down. My blog stats are down, my sales are down. It might be because I had so much going on at the paycheck job, or because I went to Jackson for a few days. Let's just say I'm trying some things to remedy all that.

I spent some time reading a book I've neglected for a long time. It's a fun story, I just had too much going on in the real world. I still have stuff going on, but I'm stopping by the writing cabin tomorrow come Hell or high water. (Either of which could occur at the writing cabin.)

I also managed to get through my critique feedback. I'm about as ready as I ever get to sling electronic ink. The bills are paid, I have no excuses.

Tonight it's all about Game of Thrones and a decent night's sleep. There might be pizza and beer involved, all of which is good.

Hoping you all had a productive Sunday, or got to celebrate Mother's Day in the USA. How goes the struggle? Tell me in the comments.

  1. I have to agree that everything seemed to slow down a week or two ago. Maybe people are getting outside and away from their computers? I don’t know. Not my thing since I hear there are bears and mosquitoes out there.

    • There are bears and mosquitos both out here. I kind of want to go fishing too, but I’m so close to the end of this first draft I can’t stand it. I may have to burn some vacation time this summer to do fun things.

      • I’m rewarding myself with pizza after this rough project. I think that’s what vacation time is for. We always seem to save it for a rainy day, appointments, or when sick. Rarely for anything fun. At least that was me, which make explain a few things.

By the way, I did a tweet for ‘Cock of the South’. Don’t think it has your tweet name on it because I did it straight from the Amazon site. Hope it helps.

      • Thanks, Charles. I appreciate it more than you know. If I can manage a block of vacation I may use some for writing, but I have to do some fun things too.

  2. I think the reason you see some decline is because of the weather. In some areas, like where I am, we were stuck inside for a very long, brutal winter. There wasn’t much to do except read and write. Now, however, it’s hot and sunny and everyone’s out and about. Once people get used to seeing the sun again things should go back to normal. This too shall pass, as they say.

  3. Spring is so busy here. Never you mind the stuff not outdoors! 🙂

  4. We had pizza last night so it’s tacos tonight. I like the stand and stuff. I have been so far removed from marketing in the past three or four months, I’m really surprised when I sell a book. I sold one on the 7th. I only noticed because I was checking for new reviews after my last FB promo (which was a near flop at six books sold) and saw my rating had improved. I hope you get to go fishing soon. We didn’t get to go this weekend. Granddaughter stuff and such.

Not slowed down here! Neither have I… walked part of the Burren Way this weekend, 40km first day, 20km the second day. Along the Cliffs of Moher… and we had SUNSHINE! Today I have blisters on my blisters, now they are slowing me down a bit!

  6. I’m late responding but things do slow down now and then…especially when we seem to want them to amp up. I didn’t get any writing time in on Sunday but Saturday was productive. I managed to finish Food for Poe (yay, me!) so that was a huge sigh of relief. Trying to gear myself up for June when Myth and Magic releases and I have a bunch of blog dates back to back. I think I’ll be in fast-forward then.

Hope you’re having a productive day at the writing cabin and left Doubt at home!

  7. You’re amazing at all the progress you keep making, despite life. I wish I had some of what you have. 🙂
