It’s Wednesday, and I always try to post a little something. Heaven forbid you forget about me during the middle of the week. I have two unrelated topics to discuss.
One: Driving requires a certain amount of focus. To do it correctly, you have to dedicate a certain amount of brain cells to the task.
Picture the street. It’s five lanes wide. Two lanes of travel heading each direction, seperated by a left turn lane. It’s rush hour, and I’m trying to get home after a long day at work. It’s St. Patrick’s Day.
I’m in the outside lane, the one closest to the sidewalk. I approach an intersection and the light is green. There is a lady in the inside lane, and she is going way under the speed limit. I don’t know what it is about the fast lane, but that’s where all the Sunday drivers seem to park.
I decide to head through the intersection, dreaming about corned beef and Old Bushmills. Flogging Molly is playing on my satellite radio; Tobacco Island to be exact.
The lady travelling in the inside lane, decides to turn right at the intersection. (USA driving for my international fans) This means, in heavy rush hour traffic, she is going to turn across my lane of travel to make her street. Here’s the results:
The police cited her, and I get to spend my next day off dealing with body shops.
Two: Will O’ the Wisp is selling well, by my standards. The early reviews are wonderful, and I’m pretty excited about the future of this book.
I’ve sold a copy or two in places all over the world. I’m exceedingly grateful to everyone who is giving this story a chance.
At the risk of being obnoxious, remember that reviews are important to authors. Whether you pen a few lines, or simply give it a star rating, it really helps. If you’re running low on stars, you can have a few of mine. Take enough to share with all the other independent authors out there.
Congrats on the book success. Sucks about the truck. At least nobody got hurt.

We all walked away without so much as a limp. I’m excited about the book, could you tell?

That’s super exciting about your book, and really probably overshadows the fender bender.

That’s how I’m looking at it. I still have to deal with repairs, but I could be dealing with hospitals.

Are you going to release it in paperback form? I wanted to order it, but I don’t have a smart phone or a Kindle (I know – what’s wrong with me?). I have it on Wish List on Amazon. I grew up in the 70s (look at my post ‘Back in the Day’) – can’t wait to read your book!!!!!!

I never intended to create a paper version. I’m sure it would move a few extra copies, but only a few. I’m a child of the 60s and love my reading app.

Good point – perhaps it’s time to get a Kindle.

They are nice, but not absolutely necessary. If you look at my sidebar, right at the top, there is a link to get a free reading app. Amazon provides one for anything you might have. Last time I checked, there was even one for Blackberry. I use my iPad for everything, and don’t own a Kindle.

Ooooh your truck is red and shiny! Like my desk and my laptop! Nice! Hope its not too much hassle to get fixed.
Congrats on your book sales. From someone who sells a handful in a good month, sounds like you’re well on your way to Celebrity Authordom… couldn’t happen to a nicer guy! Woohoooo!

Poor red truck. 😦
I picked up a copy of Will O’ the Wisp just now, though. 🙂 Will review as soon as I’m done.

Life’s like that sometimes. I’ll have to spend my next day off researching repair shops. Maybe I can promote my work from their lobby. 🙂

Ugh! Sorry to hear about the truck. What a way to wind down your St. Patrick’s Day.On the plus side, that’s great news about Wisp! Congratulations!

I suppose any wreck you can walk away from is a fair deal. I’m putting positive energy into Wisp right now. I’ll have to shop for a repairman soon though.

Congrats on your book doing well (that’s what the “Like” is for). So sorry about the accident… Hope it’s not too expensive to fix.

I have insurance, and best of all, so does the other driver. It will take some time, but we both walked away and that counts for something. The book is doing well, thanks for commenting.

Sounds like you were driving in Florida. Seriously. I’m almost scared to go out. My husband’s brand new truck just got rear ended. It was a small bruise, but it’s been estimated at $900. to correct. Thank goodness, I guess, for insurance.
I’m really excited about your book. I have an ultra long reading list. Some of your books are on it, but I think this one may get it’s review on down the road. That’s okay though…it still makes my day to get a review posted on a book I published two years ago.

I’m thrilled that you want to read it. Take your time. I’ll email you one if you like. My regulars get special consideration.
The truck will get repaired. These people drive like idiots in Idaho. I completely understand about being scared to go out.

Sorry about your truck, but at least no one was hurt. Dealing with body shops though is not a fun way to spend the day.

I’m trying to keep a good attitude about it. Maybe there is a good story idea in there. So far all I’m getting it a romantic comedy vibe. The book is exciting. I know a bunch more folks are reading it, and maybe I’ll garner some more reviews.
